  • Is the Mazda 3 following in BMW’s footsteps?

When you look at the shape of the new Mazda 3 and you see just how much it’s improved over the last decade, you may be slightly impressed, but is it just taking the shape of the 2 series BMW. There is still that element of Mazda about it, and the car still has those fancy rear lights, but it’s bigger, longer and even the colour are now very similar to those of BMW.

There’s nothing wrong with that though, and BMW make great looking cars. The 2014 Mazda 3 model has had nearly every detail changed and it’s actually making its name as one of the most reliable cars on the market. You won’t often have many problems with a Mazda 3 and the body is built superbly while a lot of care and attention has gone into the interior and Mazda have always been great when it comes to thinking about the needs of their customers.

So maybe it is following in the footsteps of BMW, but that’s a good thing, because we’re seeing every Mazda 3 improve significantly when a new model is released.

  • What can you expect from the BMW Z8

It’s a model that’s made its name as a superb little sports car, and the last model is probably the best looking Z8 yet. There are desirable chrome rims, a long nose and a beautifully shaped rear end. There’s always been that stylish exterior, but performance is good too; they don’t call it a sports car for nothing.

The car can top 300 km/h, and it even the standard roadster benefits from a 5.0 litre V8 engine, and you wouldn’t even think that was possible in such a small vehicle. Some people will see the Z8 as an investment because its style doesn’t fade years later down the line, and perhaps one day it will be seen as an all time classic.

If you want a sleek sports car, that’s stylish, has a good reputation, and it equipped with plenty of in-car accessories as well as a smooth automatic gearbox then this could be the car for you.

  • What’s so special about the Nissan Frontier?

There are many people out there who love their big bulky truck and the Nissan Frontier has to be one of the best looking models on the market. It goes back to basics with a simple yet smooth bulky box shape, and it actually has an American feel about it.

It’s available at very reasonable prices though there are different models depending on your needs. However, it must be said that the interior is nothing special. There are cheap plastics and basic in car accessories, but you wouldn’t buy this car for its accessories, you’d buy it for its practicality.

It can handle the American desert, the English hills and pretty much anything nature throws at it. It’s bigger and bulkier than the Nissan Navarro, and it may be just the ticket for old school truck lovers.

  • Plastic Car Bodies

When you look at the sale figures of cars with plastic bodies, they don’t really match up with the performance of them. High quality plastic outperforms metal in a number of different metrics; with the chief of them being the weight. Weight has an enormous impact on your cars performance. As long as you can maintain the balance of the vehicle, the lighter it is, the better the performance; which is why you see all of the vehicles in F1 races using ultra light weight materials. This hasn’t really translated into massive sales for plastic car bodies however. Instead, we’ve seen people voting with their wallets, and specifically looking for cars using more traditional materials; metal. Which is a shame, as the performance of the low weight plastics is better in a number of ways besides weight. Plastic doesn’t rust, it’s a lot cheaper, and it improves a car’s fuel efficiency. The only part that plastic works less well than metal, is in safety. This is because it is a lot harder for engineers to design crumple zones, which is the best available method for reducing the shock of an impact, and spreading it over a larger area and time. This is a lot easier with metal than it is with plastic.

  • Automatic Braking

Automatic breaking is one of the newer accessories which you can get. That, along with a number of other products, have been released as a result of the efforts that car companies, in conjunction with a number of tech companies, have put considerable investments into making automatic vehicles. By this, I don’t mean automatic gear boxes, but entirely autonomous, i.e. without the need of drivers. This is still years away from becoming a reality, but in the meantime we have automatic braking to sate ourselves. This new technology works through a number of sensors, which collect information about what is in front of the vehicle. This is particularly effective for when the car in front unexpectedly brakes, but it also works in cases of pedestrians running in front of the car. This new technology is sure to have a positive effect on car crash numbers. Ultimately, totally autonomous vehicles are sure to greatly reduce car crashes, to the point that it won’t even be a real concern anymore.
